UPSC Topper Ira Singhal: UPSC exam is the toughest exam in the country and people work hard day and night to pass it, but there are some people who have to fight with the society as well. Here we are talking about Ira Singhal who had topped the UPSC exam in the year 2014 after hard work and struggle.

Ira Singhal hails from Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. Ira got her early education from Sophia Girls School in Meerut and Loreto Convent School in Delhi. After this, she did here B.Tech degree from Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology, Delhi and MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University. In addition, Ira has worked as a Marketing Intern at The Coca-Cola Company and as a Strategy Manager at Cadbury India.

Ira said that she was happy with her job but not satisfied so she decided to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming an IAS. She had given UPSC exam in the year 2010, 2011 and 2013 and was given the posting of IRS in these three attempts but was not allowed to join due to 62% locomotor disability. In response, IRA filed suit against the Commission. Here too she had to struggle a lot, after which in the year 2014 she won her case and got selected for IRS. The decision came ahead of his 2014 Mains exam. This time Ira topped the general category of UPSC Civil Services Examination. Let us tell you that when she passed this exam, her age was 31 years. This shows that if you have the passion to work hard, then any kind of obstacle can be overcome.

Ira had told in an interview that when she was young, there used to be curfew in her city. They would have been told that this curfew has been imposed on the orders of the DM. She came to know in her childhood that the DM who imposed curfew has a lot of powers and she was impressed by this, Ira decided to become an IAS. In order to make this dream come true as a child, Ira had to struggle a lot in her life apart from hard work in studies, but Ira crossed all the stages due to her will power and perseverance.
